The Writing Center is a room with three cozy nooks, a lovingly worn-down sofa, candy baskets, and casually dressed writing consultants. Despite the warm set-up, the writing center faced an obstacle when trying to get new students through its doors. Students fear that they may be judged during a session, or worse, some didn't even realize that the center exists.
The first step was a revamp of the logo with a slogan that acted as a warm invitation. This accompanied all printed ads as part of a campaign to fight against hesitation harbored by the student body. Each ad used a familiar student reference, such as ''my dog ate my homework,'' the Jazzman cafe on campus for last-minute writers, and the infamous computer crash from campus-standard IBM laptops. All images were photographed, then edited through Photoshop.
